Upcycled Country Shirt

My mother-in-law has been slowly cleaning out the closets filled with old treasures, some barely used that were calling my name. I have been following this blog for the last few months called "New Dress A Day" and love it. It's my daily morning surprise. I finally took a stab at it myself before making the leap to rummage through the thrift stores and actually buy something.

Here's my first attempt. XL, Over-sized cowgirl shirt...

BEFORE

Into a mustard yellow, lacy top! I took in about 3" on each side - all the way up to the cuff of each sleeve. Since the shirt was an XL to begin with the tops of the sleeves hung down too low on my shoulder. I ended up pinching them up and creating some gathering on the tops. Problem solved!

AFTER
